I agree it is difficult to stand up for yourself when your so-called &quot;affiliates&quot; are waiting for you to roll over and play doormat... it&#039;s a great way of sorting out who your friends are though!

		<description>I agree - standing up for yourself does not have to translate into stepping on another, but I think standing up for yourself is full of risks.  I&#039;m teaching my six year old son the balance of getting kicked in the face (and opting to cry about it), and growing an ability to maintain the friendship with the kicker, while making damned sure it won&#039;t happen again!  I&#039;m good at standing up for myself and my beliefs, but it often does not win me any affiliates...</description>
