When will our undulations be seen as all the shades of nature?
Who celebrates loss with greater zeal than the zip?
Why are our best parts hidden – or exposed – until they lose all meaning?
Why are we so ashamed of our dimples and peaks and dips?

I am sick of empty cheeks and pipe-cleaner limbs.
I am tired of mean little lines and tight little laces.
I am angry at facts and figures that circle our necks like nooses.
I am depressed that the sweetest things are sour once tasted.

I cherish the bottom that pushes the bikini into place.
I relish the breast that communicates laughter from the heart.
I salute the stomach that grows with love and wine and age.
I celebrate the curves that give life shape and texture and art.

In nature a curve is a sign of health, strength and promise.

These are my favourite curvaceous blessings:

Forget
love,
I’d
rather
fall
in
chocolate

who knows
if the moon’s / a balloon,
coming out
of a keen city
/ in the sky –
filled with pretty people?

E. E. Cummings

Rainbows
apologize
for
angry skies

Sylvia Voirol

I have been
in Sorrow’s kitchen
and licked out
all the pots.
Then I have stood
on the peaky mountain
wrapped in rainbows,
with a harp and sword in my hands.

Zora Neale Hurston

A stone
from the hand
of a friend
is an apple

Moroccan Proverb

People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in,
their true beauty is revealed
only if there is a light from within.”

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

A laugh
is
a smile
that
bursts

Mary H. Waldrip

I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens,
but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly…
like pearls off a string.

Unknown

When you do dance,
I wish you a wave o’ the sea,
that you might ever do nothing but that

William Shakespeare
