Hi Simone

You are so right - text or email is so much easier (due to the editing factor and people are so busy these days that you want to get your message across without interrupting their busy schedule). It's a shame really that we are becoming anxious about the phone ringing or making that call.

In regard to the relationship side...I'm just glad that I don't have to worry about that and I wish everyone working on new relationships at the moment all the best :-)

Hi Annie,
Thanks for your insights and honesty.
The same Australian commentator that I mentioned above drew a definite connection between online pornography and violence against women. I think we need to re-establish a culture where sex has meaning, so that the current confusion over our gender roles and sexual needs is sorted out. Unfortunately over 70% of the Internet is porn...this figure astounds me! In the next week or so I'm going to look at this in more detail. As I see it, information without education is a dangerous approach.
Thanks for your comment, Annie. S.

Hi Simone,
I love your graphic and your article. Very interesting perspective. I am a grandmother and haven't been involved with the internet dating world. It is a challenging time for creating relationships at any age. I know quite a few people who have connected to long term relationships over the internet. I have a good friend who's daughter was raped at age 13 by a gang of older boys. Perhaps the porn sites are teaching our young men that sex has nothing to do with intimacy or respect. This is a sad thing.

Thank you for this article let's hope it raises awareness.

Hi Jen,
Crazy, isn't it? There is a great social commentator in Australia who recently revealed that single men in New York city actually prefer pornography to sex with their partners... as he put it, by having false intimacy pushed at us in all of the modern media, we are in danger of losing our connection with other people...
Thanks for your input! S.

Interesting article...

Similarly, some time ago I read some research where young men were questioned about their dating experiences. Seems many did not want to have a real relationship at all... porn and online chats were the preference. These guys were suggesting that a real relationship was too difficult, too much work, and too expensive.

Things are changing... and FAST!
